Meet Dr. Samantha Smith

Dr. Samantha Smith completed her undergraduate degree at SUNY at Buffalo with a B.S. in biomedical Sciences and a B.A. in Anthropology. She graduated from SUNY at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine in 2014.

While in school, she was a recipient of a prestigious Maryanne Mather Clinical Research Award for her active participation in clinical research. Dr. Smith finished her general practice residency at Faxton St. Luke’s Hospital in Utica, New York in 2015.

She spent the first part of her career working in Gasport, NY and has transitioned to working closer to home after the birth of her third child. She practices all aspects of general dentistry for both children and adults. Dr. Smith is an active member of the American Dental Association (ADA) and the New York State Dental Association (NYSDA).

In her free time she enjoys traveling, hiking with her family and dog, and working on finishing all 46 high peaks in the Adirondacks. Dr. Smith especially enjoys the hiatus of DIY home construction, and has taken a keen interest in gardening.

Dawn

RECEPTION

Dawn has enjoyed a fulfilling career in dentistry for almost 20 years. She loves the opportunity to work with wonderful colleagues and patients. Her favorite aspect of her job is building connections with her patients and learning about their lives.
Originally from Gasport, NY, Dawn treasures her family, which includes her husband Eric and her daughter Jessica.

She enjoys reading, bowling, and spending time with friends and family. Her pets include a Golden Retriever named Tuch and two cats, Oliver and Oddie. Dawn has worked with Dr. Smith for ten years, and when Dr. Smith purchased her own practice, Dawn jumped at the opportunity with work together again. Dawn considers her co-workers her extended family.

Maryann

RECEPTION

Maryann is a graduate of Niagara County Community College, where she earned her degree in Dental Assisting. With many years of experience in both assisting and reception, she values the relationships she has built with her patients and finds joy in their interactions. Maryann notes that her co-workers, especially Dawn, have the ability to brighten her day with laughter, even during challenging moments.

A native of Niagara Falls, Maryann cherishes her family, which includes her children and 4 grandchildren. She enjoys reading and watching basketball and cuddles with an Old English Sheepdog. Her dedication to both her family and her work makes her an invaluable member of the team.

Julie

RECEPTION

Julie graduated from Williamsport, PA, where she earned her dental hygiene degree. She finds great satisfaction in helping her patients maintain healthy mouths and enjoys the interactive nature of her work.

Born and raised in Pennsylvania, Julie has a love for the outdoors. Her hobbies include camping, hiking, and kayaking. Julie’s calm and adventurous spirit brings a unique energy to her role, making her a cherished team member.

Mackenzie

Mackenzie is currently a student at Bryant & Stratton College, pursuing a degree in medical coding, with an expected graduation date in April 2026. As a dental assistant, she appreciates the opportunity to learn something new every day and values working alongside Dr. Smith, who is the best at addressing her questions.

She enjoys educating patients about proper dental care to help them achieve optimal oral health. Mackenzie finds dental assisting to be a rewarding career, as it allows her to build meaningful relationships with patients while continuing to expand her knowledge in the field.

Originally from Western New York, Mackenzie comes from a large family with four brothers and four sisters, making a total of nine siblings. In her free time, she enjoys watching the Buffalo Bills and taking her dogs on adventures. Her dogs enjoy boating in the summer and playing in the snow during the winter. Together, they also like to go on road trips and explore new destinations.

Caroline

Caroline graduated from Monroe Community College with a degree in Applied Science in Dental Hygiene. She later continued her education at SUNY Brockport, earning a Bachelor’s in Biology. Caroline describes herself as a self-proclaimed “dental nerd” who appreciates the uniqueness of every patient, tooth, and mouth, making her job dynamic and exciting.

Originally from Wilson, NY, Caroline enjoys restoring her old Buffalo home, pottery, and spending time with animals. Her hobbies also include gardening and exploring the great outdoors, often getting lost in the woods or mountains. Caroline’s passion for her work and her diverse interests reflect her vibrant personality.

Maddy

Maddy holds an Associate’s degree from Niagara County Community College and Monroe Community College. She loves the fast-paced environment of her job and appreciates the hands-on nature of her work. Maddy thrives on the knowledge she gains from her daily experiences and enjoys making a difference in the lives of her patients.

Born and raised in North Tonawanda and Sanborn, Maddy comes from a large family that she jokingly describes as “too much family.” Her interests include gardening, home improvement projects, and dental work. She adores pit bulls and prefers larger dogs over small, noisy ones. Maddy is passionate about the changes Dr. Smith has implemented at the practice, which have reinvigorated her love for dentistry.
